In computing, a Trojan is a small piece of software referring to the Trojan Horse tale and uses the same strategy to get into a computer. It can be installed in a machine without the owner noticing it. The hacker controlling the Trojan can then access much information on the infected machine. Using such program, a poker player has been able to know the cards of his opponents in various online tournaments.
Lastly, 2 Austrian players filed a complaint against Maximilian Ashkar, known as mexx86 in his poker career. Using a Trojan, he would have won respectively 250,000 and 40,000 against the Austrian players, while cheating. After the complaint went public, more than 20 other players also accused mexx86 of cheating. He would have won more than a million euros using this technique.
The case is assigned to the Austrian police. They still have to scan all the computers and mobile phones involved before pronouncing its verdict.
