The aim of the game is to guess whether the dealers or the players hand will be closer to 9 or they will be a tie.
Multiple sets of 52 cards are shuffled and placed in a shoe. Bets are placed on different fields: "player", "bank" or "draw".
The first and third cards are given to the player, and the second and fourth to the dealer. A third card may be given as well, depending on the value of the hands. An Ace is worth 1, 10 and the faces are worth 0. The other cards are worth their own number.
If the hand exceeds 10, 10 it must be subtracted to calculate the total hand value (e.g. 6 + 9 = 15, so we subtract 10 from 15, the value of the hand is 5).
If the value of two cards in a hand equals 8 or 9, its called "Natural. In this case, no further cards will be distributed.
The highest Natural automatically wins the first round.
If the player's hand is less than 6, he receives a third card.
If the player's hand is equal to 6 or 7, no card is distributed. The player rests.
If his hand is equal to or less than 3, he draws a third card.
If his hand is 3 and the player's third card is between 0 and 9, he draws a third card.
If his hand is 4 and the third player's card has the value between 2 and 7, he draws a third card.
If the hand of the bank is 5 and the third player's card has the value between 4 and 7, the dealer draws a third card.
The hand closest to 9 wins. If there is a tie, the bet "draw" is a winner.
The winnings made on the player's hand are 1 to 1.
The winnings made on the hand of the bank are taxed 5%; the payment rates are from 0.95 to 1.
If the tie bet wins the payout is 8 to 1.
If there is a table game that deserves better recognition, that’d be Baccarat. Indeed, it offers the lowest chances for the house among all casino games. Betting on the banker’s hand can be interesting as he gets 1,06% chances to win against 1,24% on the player’s hand.
