PokerStars buys Full Tilt Poker
Written by Philippe Ramou on Tuesday, August 28, 2012

The Fulltilt Poker affaire has definitely attracted a lot of attention in recent times, from the moment when its licence was suspended by the Alderney Commission until it was purchased by the Bernard Tapie Group. However, this time the case should be close once and for all. Poker Stars has officially acquired the online poker room for $731 million. Thus, the rumors that we mentioned in this article have proved to be accurate.

Refunds for players

By buying Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars also assumes the commitment to provide all non-US players with a refund within the next three months. The members of the website coming from the US will be repaid with the $547 million payed by PokerStars to the US Justice Department.

A separate brand

PokerStars has also announced that Full Tilt Poker will be re-launched in most markets as a separate brand. The site will be run by a completely new management team based in Dublin and will operate in accordance with the legislation of the Isle of Man, where PokerStars holds its licence.
